Robert R. Freimuth
Assistant Professor
Mayo Clinic
USA
Biography
Dr. Freimuth works at the interface of biomedical informatics and clinical genomics developing computational methods, tools and infrastructure that facilitate the translation of genomic data to clinical practice. Currently, his focus is on developing standards-based knowledge representation schemas for the pharmacogenomic domain, including gene-drug interactions and clinical recommendations that could be used as part of decision support algorithms. Dr. Freimuth is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Informatics in the Department of Health Sciences Research, Mayo Clinic (Rochester). He is a member of several research networks, including the Pharmacogenomics Research Network (PGRN), Electronic Medical Records and Genomics (eMERGE), and Clinical Genome Resource (ClinGen). He also participates in formal standards development initiatives, including HL7 Clinical Genomics, W3C Healthcare and Life Sciences, and the ONC Standards & Interoperability Framework.
